August 26, 2008 dawned sunny with a hint of fall in the air, perfect weather for Delbarton Orientation. Students from the Classes of 2014 and 2012 arrived with their mothers who enjoyed the annual New Mothers' Coffee hosted by the Delbarton Mothers' Guild.

A Chance Encounter in West Virginia

After teaching summer school at Delbarton’s Summer Session, Delbarton teacher Nick Huck volunteered at Nazareth Farm, in Center Point, WV an organization leads high school students in home repair in rural Appalachia. During one of his weeks on staff Nick ran into Robert Frech ’09 who arrived for a week of work with his fellow parishioners from St. Lawrence, in Chester, NJ.

How Do You Clean a Statue?

How do you clean a statue? Very carefully. The impressive statuary that populates Delbarton School dates from the Roman Empire, a product of Luther Kountze's canny business sense and his love of antiquities. Last year, in an effort to protect these priceless antiquities, a contractor essentially white washed four of them before the project was summarily halted.

Welcome to a brand new school year at Delbarton!
The bad news is that health forms are due by the first day of school (or first day of practice, for fall athletes) and August 25th for new students. The good news is that submitting the forms is easier than ever.

Trust for Public Land Agrees to Purchase 188 Acres from St. Mary's Abbey

On July 23, 2008 St. Mary's Abbey released the following announcement: Morristown, NJ, (July 23, 2008) . . . The Trust for Public Land (TPL) has reached an agreement to purchase 188 acres of land from the Order of St. Benedict of New Jersey that owns and manages Delbarton School and St. Mary’s Abbey in Morris Township. The agreement is subject to the approval of the Abbey’s local governing board, as well as higher ecclesiastical sign offs.
