  • Forensic Society Wins Big at States

    The Delbarton Forensic Society competed at the New Jersey Forensic League’s State Championship Tournament on March 5 and 6, 2010 at Ridge High School in Basking Ridge. The team finished at a program best, placing fourth overall out of 32 schools, with a second place finish in debate events.

    Fr. Elias Lorenzo, OSB, formerly of St. Mary's Abbey, is currently serving as the Superior and Prior of the Abbey of Sant’ Anselmo in Rome, Italy, the headquarters of international Benedictine Confederation, and a prestigious pontifical university. In his capacity as Prior, Fr. Elias recently had the honor of welcoming Pope Benedict XVI to Sant' Anselmo.

  • Bleeding Green at Delbarton

    Delbarton's 28th Annual Blood Drive on March 1st was a big success -- 121 potential donors were screened and 110 pints of blood were collected. School Nurse Barbara Pereyra marshalled a team of students and parents that worked with the friendly Blood Services techs to run the day-long effort.

    On March 3, 2010 Delbarton's History Club, moderated by Mr. John Thompson, sponsored a Black History Month Fair in the Gregory Room that was well attended by students and faculty. February was Black History Month but last month's original ly scheduled date turned out to be a snow day.

    On Saturday, February 20, 2010 forty alumni hockey players faced off at the annual, and much anticipated, Alumni Hockey Game hosted by Green Wave Head Hockey Coach Bruce Shatel on the Delbarton's home rink of Aspen Ice.

    Delbarton Spirit Week is an annual February rite of passage that includes handball, basketball and ping pong competitions, Jeopardy games, chess matches, dodgeball, video game matches, a poetry slam, and Hot Bites competition. Earlier this month Mother Nature thoughtlessly dumped a foot of snow on Spirit Week which delayed several events, including the annual Faculty Student Hoops Game. On February 24th, with the threat of yet another Snowmegeddon on the way, the game took place.
