Campus Ministry
Retreats
Weekend retreats are required for the 9th and 10th grades, and Days of Recollection for the Middle School, 11th, and 12th Grades. These retreats and days of recollection are designed to form students in the values and beliefs of the Delbarton community. The weekend retreats involve talks given by members of the junior and senior classes under the guidance of the Director of Campus Ministry. These talks serve as a catalyst for small group discussions in which each student has an opportunity to share his thoughts and life experiences. Occasions for private prayer, shared prayer in the morning and evening including Lectio Divina,
and the celebration of the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist are also part of every retreat. The days of recollection are tailored to each class’ spiritual needs. Some are led by the Campus Ministry Team and others by facilitators or groups from outside of the school that specialize in ministry with young people. Every day of recollection concludes with the celebration of the Eucharist.
