And, of course, many Delbarton students showed up to donate. They quickly discovered that the 'no cell phone' law is suspended during blood donation. Just one more reason to give!

Delbarton's 28th Annual Blood Drive on March 1st was a big success -- 121 potential donors were screened and 110 pints of blood were collected. School Nurse Barbara Pereyra marshalled a team of students and parents that worked with the friendly Blood Services techs to run the day-long effort. The originally scheduled date was postponed due to snow (we're starting to sound like a broken record here, yes?) but plenty of parents, alumni and teachers stopped by to give blood while 16 year old and up Delbarton students mustered the courage to donate blood for the first time.

As always, the post-donation buffet was well worth the pint of blood, courtesy efforts of the Delbarton Mothers' Guild. Nurse Pereyra appreciates all who helped and, in particular, all who offered to donate blood. Mark your calendar for next year's Blood Drive, which traditionally takes place the first week in February.
