Mothers' Guild

DMG

"The purpose of the Delbarton Mothers' Guild is to encourage the cooperation of Delbarton mothers in promoting the educational, cultural, social and spiritual aims of the school and to provide financial support for its material needs." — DMG Bylaws

The Mothers' Guild conducts two fundraisers annually to support the Delbarton scholarship fund and other school needs, a summer camp fair,spiritual programs including a Lenten Morning of Recollection and Bible study and book discussion groups, and social gatherings. The mothers provide service to the school's blood drive, book distribution, and the elderly monks in the abbey infirmary. They also enliven the campus at homecoming and at Christmas and have a lot fun doing it.

  • DMG Hosts Speaker on Cyber-Bullying

    Det. Mark Castellano from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office spoke to Delbarton parents on January 19, 2012.

    On January 19, 2012 the Delbarton Mother Guild Parent to Parent committee hosted Det. Mark Castellano from the Morris County Prosecutor's Office who facilitated an interactive discussion on Internet Safety including cyberbullying, sexting, internet addictions and their consequences.

  • Save the Date: Free Jazz Concert March 23

    Delbarton's free jazz concert on Friday, March 23 will feature a program consisting largely of Latin jazz, drawn from Bill O’Connell’s latest CD, ‘Rhapsody in Blue,’ and other works by popular jazz composers.

    Delbarton School will host a free jazz concert, Bill O'Connell & the Latin Jazz Allstars featuring Conrad Herwig at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 23, 2012 in the Fine Arts Center Theater. Click here for a reproducible poster.

  • 32nd Annual Appalachia Drive Underway

    In December 2010 a great group of Delbarton juniors and dads distributed toys, blankets, clothes and food in Appalachia. This year, for the first time, donated furniture is also welcome. (Photo: Kevin Kenny '78, P'12, '15)

    Delbarton's 32nd annual collection for toys, blankets, food and clothing begins on Wednesday December 7 and runs through Monday December 12. For the first time this year, furnishings will also be collected. Click here for a list of suggested donations and the drop off times.

    Delbarton's Annual Christmas Concert is a signature seasonal event.

    Delbarton has a full calendar of arts-related events during November and December. (Click here for a reproducible poster to spread the good news). All concerts take place in the comfort of the Fine Arts Center Theater, and all are free of charge and open to the public. Delbarton Arts Consortium (DAC) provides free refreshments after most events.

    Author Daphne Kalotay spoke at a special meeting for the DMG Book Club on October 24th.

    On October 24, 2011 the Delbarton Mothers' Guild Book Club welcomed Daphne Kalotay, the author of Russian Winter. The special meeting of the Club took place in the Kountze Room of Old Main and was well attended by Delbarton mothers, both past and present, since the Club welcomes the participation of Delbarton Parents of Graduate members.

    The Delbarton Annual Fund closes its books on June 30th. If you have not already donated, please consider making a contribution online, on the phone or through the mail before next Thursday.

    Will your name appear in this year's Delbarton Annual Report? There is still time to make a donation to the Delbarton Annual Fund. The Fund closes in just one week, on Thursday, June 30.

  • Delbarton in Session on February 18th

    In a calender adjustment, Delbarton now will be in session on February 18th to make up for six snow days and two early closings so far this winter.

    Due to an unusual number of snow days and early closings Delbarton has decided to repeal a planned student vacation day/faculty meeting. Therefore, classes will be in session on Friday, February 18th.
